Harbin City in Heilongjiang Province, China may not be the first place you think of for street food, but the Harbin Ice and Snow Festival is UNUSED. This is the capital of China's northeastern province, which is in winter, and on the way out of town I highly recommend street food.

Hong Cai Tang (in Chinese) is an excellent choice for all tastes in Russia, and if you want spicy lamb, you can enjoy Uighur street food here. The city is home to China's oldest symphony, and Harbin's beer and music are brewed locally.
Dumplings eatery, Wang's serves a wide selection of dumplings at affordable prices, and it's actually a restaurant of the chain. The cheapest restaurants offer meals for 20-30 dollars, which cost no more than 25 CNY25 per person, but the chain restaurants are actually much more expensive than the more popular restaurants in Harbin.
Dongbei, or deep-fried pork bread, a deep-fried version of dumplings, is a popular DongbeI food invented by the ancestors of this restaurant.
Other notable local dishes include stews, braising and cooking, but the most famous of all Harbin dumplings is the spring bun, one of China's most popular dishes and a popular dish in the city.
